1. Our Commitment to Privacy

The College of Computing and Information Sciences Local Student Government (CCISLSG) is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of all CCIS students, officers, faculty, and guests. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is secured, and your rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the services you access on the CCISLSG Hub, we may process the following information:

  • Student Verification & Identification: Full name, student ID number, institutional email address, year level, and academic program.
  • Academic Clearance & Organization Records: Clearance status, fee payments, and attendance at official college events.
  • Student Inquiries & Feedback: Messages, suggestions, or grievance tickets submitted through official contact channels.
  • Audit & System Logs: Timestamped records of administrative actions performed by authorized officers for accountability.

3. Purpose of Data Processing

All personal data gathered is used strictly for legitimate student council operations:

  • Managing semesterly college clearance verification.
  • Recording and issuing attendance for seminars, hackathons, and general assemblies.
  • Tracking inventory and equipment borrowing.
  • Facilitating official communications, announcements, and election bulletins.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The CCISLSG Hub uses essential cookies and local storage tokens strictly to maintain authenticated officer sessions, store user theme preferences (Dark / Light mode), and cache public announcements for offline Progressive Web App (PWA) reading. We do not use commercial third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

5. Data Security and Confidentiality

We implement industry-standard cryptographic practices, strict role-based access control (RBAC), and audited database queries to ensure student data cannot be accessed by unauthorized entities. Data is retained only for the duration required to complete academic school year requirements.

6. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under RA 10173, students have the right to be informed, access their personal data, request corrections to erroneous records, and lodge inquiries regarding data handling. For any data privacy inquiries, you may reach out directly to the CCISLSG Executive Board.
